Peperomia Verschaffeltii is a member of a large family of some 500 ornamental foliage plants, and is related to pepper. In the wild the plant grows in the Amazon region of South America, preferably under trees where it's warm and shady.

Peperomia plants are normally small and rarely growing more than 12 inches in height indoors, making them ideal for small indoor spaces and balconies. You can identify them by their sturdy stems and many have fleshy leaves, with succulent characteristics.
